The Open Foris Geospatial Toolkit comes with an installer which is frequently updated. It is named '''OpenForisToolkit.run'''. To run the installer: == Linux: debian-based distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, etc.) == The installer has been tested with various [http://www.ubuntu.com Ubuntu Linux] versions and it should work with other [http://www.debian.org/ Debian] based distros as well. #First make sure that you have installed all the necessary gdal and gsl libraries and tools. If you do not have them then download and install them by using following commands: ##<pre>sudo apt-get install gcc</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install g++</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install gdal-bin</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install libgdal1-dev</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install libgsl0-dev</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install libgsl0ldbl</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install python-gdal</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install python-scipy</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install python-tk</pre> ##<pre>sudo apt-get install perl</pre> #Then download the OpenForisToolkit.run installer ##<pre>wget http://foris.fao.org/static/geospatialtoolkit/releases/OpenForisToolkit.run</pre> ##<pre>sudo chmod u+x OpenForisToolkit.run</pre> ##<pre>sudo ./OpenForisToolkit.run</pre> ::To accept the license terms type 1 and hit enter == Linux: rpm-based systems (PCLinuxOS, RedHat, SuSE, etc.) == Open Foris Toolkit is tested on and we recommend [http://www.pclinuxos.com PCLinuxOS]. To compile the Open Foris you need to compile GDAL manually: Download from the [http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/wiki/DownloadSource gdal official repository] (e.g gdal-1.8.1.tar.gz) and install using the following commands commands: <pre> cd ~ tar -xvwzf gdal-1.8.1.tar.gz cd gdal-1.8.1 ./configure make make install </pre> By the cygwin setup.exe select gsl library (http://www.gnu.org/software/gsl/): gsl , gsl-app , gsl-devel , gsl-doc and install.
