Hi, I am very ignorant in terms of statistics but my understanding is that statistical estimations are calculated differently according to whether the sample is built on a sampling design that is stratified or not, systematic or random, etc. How can we tell Saiku in CE which sample design was used? And if we cannot specify, what sample design is assumed by Saiku (simple systematic? stratified systematic? simple random? stratified random?) (which would affect the sample design I need to use when defining my sample plots)? Thanks, Florence

Hi Florence, Saiku does not perform any statistics estimation by itself. What you get from Saiku are aggregations of the data collected, whether using the number of plots, the plot expansion factor or the weighted plot count. It is up to the person running the analysis to make sure that the analysis take into consideration whatever sampling designs or other factors that may be of influence. For the calculation of the plot expansion factor you can refer to this answer.
