After waiting for the new Calc as suggested, I tried installing version 2.0-a1 with Windows10prof, jdk1.8u91, Postgres9.3.13, R3.2.5. Almost there but arrived in the menu home page I received InternalServerError500 and Calc keeps hanging. Has Calc 2.0-a1 real(ly new calculation) changes or can I (better) continue with the old version 1.0-b3: the Tutarials seem not to be changed. Maybe it is handy to add a page in Open Foris website after Download last version: date and number version with new changes. Thanks J.

Dear Joseph,

No problem! Thank you for being the first Calc2 tester; this fix will benefit all other users as well.

Hi Joseph,

if you had Calc1 installed, please delete the system environment variable CALC_HOME and install CALC2 again, but make sure to completely remove from the hard disk the old CALC1 installation folder; this is necessary because you need to make sure that the current user must have write permission (CALC1 used to require admin privileges, CALC2 no). After having installed Calc2, please clear the cache of your browser also.

There are several advantages in using Calc2, e.g a redesigned Sampling design page, a more robust integration with R. In fact now, to execute a processing chain you need to download the chain from the home calculation page (click the download r button); extract it, and open RStudio with the current working directory set where the calc.r file is located. To execute the chain, just run calc.r.

Please let us know if you face additional problems.

Thank you Mino

Hi Mino, It was the first installation on the newly installed Windows 10 Prof, nevertheless I followed your instructions, but unfortunately I received same error message after opening with a short flash of calc/home#.

Hi Joseph,

the only thing i can think about then is the postgres password. did you set it as 'postgres' during its installation?

Otherwise, can you send me a zip file of the logs folder (C:/{opt/Calc}/calc-server/tomcat/logs) ?

Thank you,

Mino
